Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors I'd Die To Meet!

It's Tuesday! Do you know what that means? It means it's Top Ten Tuesday time!!!

In case you're not aware of what Top Ten Tuesday is, it's a meme/feature created by the lovely bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish! To participate, all you have to do is a post like mine listing your Top Ten Authors You'd Die To Meet, link back to The Broke and the Bookish, then add a link to the linky widget and you're all set! But, don't forget to visit other peoples blogs to see their lists too!

So, without further ado, here is my Top Ten Tuesday for this week!

TOP THEN AUTHORS I'D DIE TO MEET

1.) Karen Kingsbury: Of COURSE I'd die to meet her! She is probably my all time favorite Author ever. She is a Christian/Inspirational author. I've read every book shes written and she has never let me down. I have been able to relate to each and every book of hers in some way.

2.) Jodi Picoult: She was my all time favorite author until I discovered Karen. But, Jodi is definitely my next close favorite! She writes books on life its self, sometimes it may seem a little cliche-ish, but she does a good enough job and research to make sure that it seems more "real".

3.) Janet Evanovich: If you want a laugh-out-loud funny book, this is the author you should choose! Her Stephanie Plum novels are HILARIOUS! I have yet to read one of her books that didn't make me laugh.

4.) Nicholas Sparks: For some reason, not very many people on the blogosphere seem to like Nicholas Sparks. Yeah, his books are kind of the cheesy, movie-like stories, but I still love them. His writing itself is really good too.

5.) Jennifer Weiner: She is definitely in my top favorites. I've only read a few of her books, but she's a good author.

6.) Sarah Dessen: She is rapidly becoming a new favorite. I've read two or three of her books and she's a GREAT Young Adult author!

Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with a full list of 10 Authors that are my FAVORITE. I've read a lot of authors that I like a lot, but these are my most favorite authors!

Now, be sure to comment below with a link back to your blog, so I can come see your list! Also, don't forget to visit The Broke and the Bookish to enter your link, and link back to them!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Characters I Want To Be BFF's With!

As you all know, over at my other blog, The Broke and the Bookish, we do a weekly meme called Top Ten Tuesday. It's a meme where we think of different topics every week and make a list out of it! If you'd like to participate, head on over to The Broke and the Bookish by clicking HERE, and fill out Mister Linky! Don't forget to link back to our blog as well! Enjoy!

TOP THEN CHARACTERS I WANT TO BE BFF'S WITH!

Before I get started, I usually don't put them in order of "favorite", but this time, my number one is by far the first person I'd choose from!!!

1.) Baily Flanigain from the Baxter Series- Baily is the most down to earth, laid back, Christian, friendly person you'd ever meet... in real life, AND in a book! She's all about being that true friend no matter what, she never leaves your side, and she supports you in every thing. I've never really had a friend like that, and to think that Bailey could be that true friend is so awesome! Plus, she's a HUGE fan of Jesus, which is a plus for me!

2.) Lula and Stephanie Plum from the Stephanie Plum series - I had to put both of these on here because they're my top two favorite characters from this series. I'd love to be friends with Lula because she's so hilarious!! She's an plus sized woman trying to fit into junior sized clothes, she is loud, has wild hair and isn't afraid of anyone, or anything! And who wouldn't want to be friends with Stephanie? She gets herself in the most daring, crazy, scary, mixed up situations... car bombings, body parts showing up in the mail.. It'd never be a dull moment being her friend! Not to mention her close ties with the sexy Ranger and Joe Morelli!

3.) Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games series- I had to think about this one. But, I came to the conclusion that it would be fun to be her friend, just in the sense that she's the type of person to not care what other people think of her. She knows who she is, what she likes, and other peoples opinions don't matter. I feel like I could learn a lot from her. Especially from watching her in the games, even though it'd be hard to watch my BFF in such a situation!

4.) Melinda Sordino from Speak - I know this may surprise some of you, but I'd like to be friends with her so I can BE there for this poor girl! Even when I first read this book, I found myself screaming at her so-called "friends" who left her to deal with what she did on her own. And in my eyes, this girl had every right to bust that party up! More power to her!

I thought of four of them off of the top of my head! I'm running out of time at the moment, but I will add some more later!!!

Who are some of the people you picked? Do you agree with any of mine? I'm excited to see what some of you said!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Made Me Cry!

I know, I know, I'm a day late posting this! But I was busy yesterday and didn't have the time (or I was just slacking). But, a day late is better than never!!!!

In case you aren't aware of what Top Ten Tuesday is, here's a brief description:

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at the other blog that I participate in called  The Broke and the Bookish.

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of our bloggers answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND sign Mister Linky at the bottom to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Don't worry if you can't come up with ten every time..just post what you can!

So, without further ado, here is my list!

TOP TEN BOOKS THAT MADE ME CRY

1.) Above the Line Series: Take Four by Karen Kingsbury- Almost every single book shes ever written has made me tear up at least once, but this book made me bawl like a little baby. It's the fourth book in this series, but it made me cry harder than any other book in this series, or that she's written.

2.) My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult- Who hasn't cried from reading this book? It was actually the first book I'd ever read by Jodi, and probably the first book to ever make me cry. It's so heartbreaking, yet you just can't turn away. The movie didn't make me cry as hard/as much, only because I had read the book so I knew what was going to happen. But it's definitely a tear-jerker!

3.) The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf- This book made me cry so much because I think it scared me. How would you feel to be forced into silence and scared for the rest of your life by someone you're suppose to look up to? Especially at such a young age. I felt for that little girl like I've never felt for a character before!

4.) Shades of Blue by Karen Kingsbury- I just HAD to add this one on here. It's about a love lost, and trying to find yourself and/or to find that love again.. whether it's with the person you loved in the beginning, or with someone new. My boyfriend (who I was with for 7 years) and I had just broken up and this ENTIRE book was EXACTLY how I was feeling. So, as you can probably guess.. I bawled like a little baby through-out the entire book.

5.) The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger- This wasn't one of my all time favorite books ever read, and in all honesty I probably wouldn't read it again. However, it did make me cry numerous times. How could you live a life like that, especially knowing when certain tragedies were going to happen. I don't think I could be a wife to someone who randomly disappeared, and not know when, or if, they'd return.

6.) Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah - This book made me cry a couple different times. Mostly just because of the relationship that every character had towards one another, and how much I wished it could be a better one. I don't want to say too much, but I think I can say this... The "cold-hearted" relationship that the mother and daughter had just broke my heart. I can't even begin to imagine having a bad relationship with my mom. It just broke my heart for this daughter.

7.) Undiscovered Gyrl by Allison Burnett- I'm almost positive that 90% of you have never heard of this book. It was a random book that I had just picked up off of the shelf. This one didn't necessarily make me cry, but my eyes did tear up a few days. It's about a troubled girl trying to find her way through life without a mentor, or some guidance. It makes you wonder just how many people really are like that out there. It was just a sad story.

8.) IraqiGirl- This was a diary of a teenaged girl in Iraq who was writing in her diary about what it was like living in a war and they turned it into a book. There was multiple times I cried during this book. I mostly cried because it was so heartbreaking to know how you were living in the war, losing friends and family daily. I couldn't do it.

9.) Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright - This is definitely on the list! I cried almost through out this entire book. I don't want to say too much because it'll give the book away. But this book is about a husband who writes his wife letters every Wednesday. It's an amazing book that you MUST read!

Sadly, I couldn't come up with a 10th one. Maybe I'll think of one and add it to the list later. But, I hope you enjoyed my 9 books that made me cry!!

Don't forget to join in on the fun (even if it's a day or two late!) and head on over to The Broke and the Bookish to sign the linky.

Did you have any of the books I listed, on your list? Please comment and let me know!

Top Ten Tuesday!!! All Time Favorite Books!

Top ten Tuesday is actually a weekly feature that the other blog, The Broke and the Bookish, that I am apart of decided to create. It's
a fun way to get other blogs into the top ten lists as well! So, here is my top ten list of my favorite books of all time!

I actually have a feeling that this list is going to be hard to decide which books to add to this list. I do want to say that this list is NOT in order, it's just a list of 10 books that I came up with!!

  1. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer - how many other lists do you suppose this series is on? I told myself I wouldn't fall into the obsessive-ness of this series, but, I think it's too late.... who knew that sparkly vampires would be so addicting?
  2. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult - Jodi is one of my all time favorite authors, and I have loved every book shes ever written, but I think this one is by far the best and my favorite out of all of them. My Grandma actually recommended this book to me, and ever since, I've been a Picoult junkie!
  3. On Every Side by Karen Kingsbury - if you're into the books where politics, religion and freedom plays a role, this is definitely the book for you! This books takes all of these aspects and makes you see, well, every side of the issue. There was a popular statue of Jesus in a public park, and someone who didn't believe in religion/Jesus, was trying to have it removed. This book goes into the high depths of fighting against those who have different beliefs than yours, and as I said, trying to see every side!
  4. Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich - I was trying so hard to stay away from actual series. I mean, this is a top ten list of favorites BOOKS! But, this entire series is just so good! You will laugh your butt off through out every book in this series. It's the type of series where you're sitting quietly in a library reading and you will literally laugh out loud so everyone looks at you thinking, "How can you laugh out loud at a BOOK?" Trust me, you can!
  5. IraqiGirl - This book doesn't really have an author listed. It's the actual diary of teenaged girl growing up in Iraq with the war going on. [[ Review to come soon! ]] I'm not real big on diary type books, but this book is absolutely AMAZING! The way these entries are written, and explained, makes you see how horrible it really is in Iraq right now. This is a MUST read!
  6. About Face by Fern Michaels - this book was also recommended to me by my Grandma. It's a very good book and is written in such detail, that you can actually feel as if you're apart of the characters family.
  7. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - this is probably my all time favorite book EVER written! I read this book back in eighth grade as a requirement for a class but I would read this book over and over and over again! Even the lifetime movie was good!
  8. Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah - i almost for about about this book!!!! I just recently read this book, and this was an absolutely amazing book. One of those page turners that you can't put down! It's heartbreaking, happy, sad, every emotion you can imagine in ONE book!! Another MUST READ!
  9. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton - this was a book that my 7th grade English teacher read to us as an assignment. It was a GREAT book. I remember looking forward to going to that class, to hear what was going to happen next. I think I may add this to my to-be-read-list, so I can read it myself rather than having it read TO me!
  10. A Single Thread by Marie Bostwick - this actually has three books following it, i haven't read the third one yet, but the second was is almost as equally good as the first! If you know of anyone who has had breast cancer, whether they survived or not, you should definitely read this book. It makes you realize just how important true friendship really is!
